RED BRICK & IVY

Building a Legacy

PROVIDE A LASTING LEGACY FOR FUTURE GENERATIONS IN THE CITY OF OXFORD.

BRICKS, BENCHES, AND BIKE RACKS FOR OXFORD'S UPTOWN PARKS & MILE SQUARE

Red Brick & Ivy is a partnership between the Greater Oxford Community Foundation and the City f Oxford to renovate and maintain Oxford's uptown parks in perpetuity. This partnership began when the City of Oxford renovated the uptown parks, which are now the centerpiece of Oxford and a gathering place for students and year-round residents.

COMMEMORATIVE BRICKS

$125 each

To enhance the appearance of the uptown parks, the area around the parks is paved with engraved commemorative bricks. Your name, or that of someone you wish to honor, can be engraved on a commemorative brick.

Special to the uptown park design is the Veterans Memorial Wall on which each branch of the military is honored. With a brick on the walkway beneath this wall, you have a unique opportunity to create a lasting tribute to loved ones who served their country.

COMMEMORATIVE BENCHES

$3,000 each

A bench is a wonderful way to enhance our community while honoring a special person, remembering a loved one, or marking a special memory or occasion.

You can dedicate a bench in uptown Oxford to an individual or group. A small press plaque will be inscribed with your tribute and mounted on the bench seat-back. Donors provide the text for the plaque inscription.

In accordance with the City of Oxford's plan, bench sites must be prearranged with the City of Oxford. Benches are sold on a first-come, first-serve basis. If you wish, the City will notify you when a bench will be set.

COMMEMORATIVE BIKE RACKS

$350 each

Bicycles need to be secured when left alone. With this in mind, the City of Oxford has incorporated bike racks into its plan to make Oxford.a bike friendly community. Racks, with a commemorative plaque, can be purchased to help the City achieve this goal.

The bicycle racks will be placed strategically in the Uptown District and are available for purchase by businesses or individuals who wish to remember or honor a loved one or family, or to simple put a family name on the rack. The location will be determined by the City, based on the various considerations, such as width of sidewalk,
